72 Bedroom Care Home

THE FACTS

Client:

Liberty Care Developments
PROJECT BRIEF:
72 Bedroom Care Home
Sector:
Healthcare
Site Area:
1.4 acres
Situated between residential properties to the east and south, and retail premises to the west, we decided that the proposed building has the ability to create an appropriate relationship between the varying use classes.

With the care home situated on a plateau at the top of the site, we considered a number of iterations for the scale of the care home. A large number of 3 storey residential properties surround the site as well as 2 storey. To the west, sits the approved Aldi foodstore which has a larger retail scale, although it does sit at a lower level.

It was determined, that a more traditional styled, pitched roof arrangement would provide too large of a scale and mass when positioned at the top of the site. As such, a more contemporary-styled, flat roof approach was adopted. This had the benefit of limiting the scale and mass of the building to an acceptable relationship with the surrounding residential properties, as well as sharing a similar roof treatment to the adjacent approved Aldi foodstore.

The delivery of Fosse Way View has been the result of the best across-the-board teamwork effort that I have ever experienced, despite the challenges of the pandemic.
Director at Lawrence Baker, Luke Hollick
Fosse Way View has been beautifully thought out with a lot of attention to details such as the spa bathrooms with the twinkling ceilings, balconies overlooking the gardens and a beautiful bar area in the reception area where people can meet to sit and socialise with their families.
