Urmston

40 Bedroom Care Home

THE FACTS

Client:

Knoll Care Partnership
PROJECT BRIEF:
40 Bedroom Care Home
Sector:
Healthcare
Site Area:
0.67 acres
Designed for a small, private operator in Urmston to consolidate two existing homes into a new purpose-built care home on a corner site in Urmston. The design was highly commended by Trafford Planning Authority during the process as “a well-integrated solution for this important corner location.”

The main features of the home are the fully glazed lounge and dining rooms which open out onto the attractive gardens, also designed by C Squared Architects. First-floor balconies wrapping around the glazed dining rooms add to the focal point overlooking the junction. Designed to allow the home to be spilt via a central core into four 10-bedroom households to provide separate accommodation for various levels of dementia, with shared accommodation on each floor such as assisted bathrooms to reduce cost and floor area.

The internal courtyard is hard landscaped for car parking giving easy access to both the main entrance and the separate service entrance to allow secure access to the service accommodation located in the roof space.
C Squared Architects have an excellent understanding of how workshop and the support accommodation needs to work and interface to assist with the day to day working of the business.
Managing Director at Truck East, John Biggin
We always found C Squared Architects to be pro-active, professional and conscious of the Client’s brief, timescales and budget and would not hesitate to recommend them to Clients for similar work.

As we celebrate our recent CQC rating we have been contemplating all the help and support we received from others to make it happen. Having an OUTSTANDING! Building in which to provide care certainly helped!

The delivery of Fosse Way View has been the result of the best across-the-board teamwork effort that I have ever experienced, despite the challenges of the pandemic.
Director at Lawrence Baker, Luke Hollick
Fosse Way View has been beautifully thought out with a lot of attention to details such as the spa bathrooms with the twinkling ceilings, balconies overlooking the gardens and a beautiful bar area in the reception area where people can meet to sit and socialise with their families.
