Contemporary 5000sq.ft house for private client

Contemporary 5000 sq.ft house for private client.

We are delighted to have been involved with this project which was approved by Manchester City Council in June. Occupying a side-garden plot, the property was bespokely designed for the owners of the neighbouring dwelling. As the site is within a conservation area, we explored a number of alternative approaches which varied from traditional to ultra-contemporary. Although resulting in very different appearances, the approaches utilised the same palette of materials that are prevalent in the surrounding conservation area. The property is split over 3 storeys and accommodates a second floor gym as well as a double-height open plan kitchen/dining/living area. The scheme also incorporates renewable energy technologies as well as adopting some Passivhaus principles.

75 bedroom care home submitted for Planning approval.

Our scheme for a new 75 bedroom care home has been submitted to Uttlesford District Council. Sitting adjacent to a listed cottage and surrounded by well-established residential neighbourhoods, the scheme sympathetically addresses the tree-lined setting. A local vernacular in terms of appearance and materials is employed to create a welcoming aura for the care home that seamlessly negotiates the sites considerable level changes. With gardens at upper and lower levels, the predominantly brick care home has feature weatherboarded gables that provide access to the gardens via expansive floor to soffit openings.

Work starts on site at TruckEast Crick depot in Northampton

TruckEast Crick begins £2.5 million refurbishment.

The team at C Squared Architects are excited to announce that the internal and external refurbishment works for TruckEast Crick, a franchise of Scania (GB) Ltd is now underway!

Following planning approval in late 2018, the team at C Squared Architects have worked closely on the plans and elevations with TruckEast management and the appointed Contractor and work has commenced in the vacant building next door. The existing, unused, office-space has been demolished whilst the old cladding has been stripped and new external fascia applied.

The latest developments include the installation of new workshop doors, windows and glazed screens in the lobby and the erection of steelwork for the internal offices and stores. Over the next couple of weeks, we shall see the internal space begin to come together with the office fit-out. Meanwhile, externally the cleared land to the rear will be flattened and prepared for access and additional yard space.

“We’re really happy with the progress so far – it is already an amazing transformation and it goes to say that everyone is excited to see the finished result,” comments Regional Aftersales Director, Graham Broughton.

Planning submission made for contemporary coastal dwelling

Contemporary two-storey extension and internal re-modelling

C Squared Architects are delighted to have been involved with this project for a repeat client. Located on the Isle of Anglesey, with stunning views of the Irish Sea, our brief was to transform a tired 1970's, 3 bedroom detached house into a contemporary 4 bedroom dwelling, which can also be utilised as a holiday let. To take full advantage of the views, our proposals include inverting the living arrangements so that the en-suite bedrooms are located on the ground floor, with living accommodation on the first floor, with large glazed doors opening out onto the first floor balcony directly from the living room. Externally, crisp white render and contemporary grey cladding will transform the external appearance and add the wow factor that this dwelling requires. A planning application has been submitted to the Isle of Anglesey County Council and we expect a decision by early September.
