Shortlisted for the Knight Frank Design Awards, this state of the art, 70-bedroom care home has been designed for elderly residential and dementia residents on behalf of Charterpoint. The elevational treatment is of a contemporary design and utilises a combination of glazed elements that break up the massing of the building; rendered bays to create interest to the façade; and, a variation in material palette on the second floor, which result in a pleasing composition.

The material palette comprises of red brick and off-white render on the ground and first floors, and horizontal grey cladding to the second floor. Feature brick details and window surrounds provide a desirable variety in the facade appearance. The flat roof parapet wall will be capped with a trim and the windows will be a powder coated aluminium system. The proportions of the building create an elegant appearance that sits well within its context and compliments the surrounding vernacular.
