PROJECT BRIEF:
59 Bedroom Care Home
Sector:
Healthcare
Site Area:
0.66 acres
The site on Yewtree Lane in Northern Moor, sits between Edgeley, to the east, and Cheadle, to the west. The site is to be redeveloped from an existing care home with car park and service area into a new 59-bedroom care home. The building has been split between three residential floors, accommodating 59 resident bedrooms with en-suites; 17 bedrooms on ground floor, 22 bedrooms on first floor and 20 bedrooms on the second floor, with ancillary space located in a basement level situated under approximately half of the building. Each floor of resident bedrooms is separated by a day space which breaks up the corridors whilst providing seating areas, activities and stimulation for the residents. Overall, the floor plates stack with the lounges and dining rooms in the same location on each floor. The building has been designed from the inside out, and then refined in response to its context. Its form has been balanced with its function so that the operator can provide comfortable and homely environment.

The delivery of Fosse Way View has been the result of the best across-the-board teamwork effort that I have ever experienced, despite the challenges of the pandemic.
Director at Lawrence Baker, Luke Hollick
Fosse Way View has been beautifully thought out with a lot of attention to details such as the spa bathrooms with the twinkling ceilings, balconies overlooking the gardens and a beautiful bar area in the reception area where people can meet to sit and socialise with their families.
