As part of our role as brand Architects for Scania (Great Britain) Limited, C Squared Architects were commissioned to create Europe’s first indoor used truck centre in Warrington. The brief was to transform a vacant industrial site into a recognisable, Scania branded building and sales forecourt. This included the remodelling of the external hard and soft landscaping to provide customer parking along with a display forecourt for larger fixed wheel based vehicles and smaller tractor units. The new Scania pylon, illuminated building mounted signage and Scania flags along the boundary enforce the brand identity that Scania are creating across all their sites. New security barriers, recessed ground up lighters and high-level flood lights help display the trucks and ensure a safe environment for staff and customers. Inclusive access is provided across the site with the entrance ramp and level access thresholds throughout the ground floor.The new offices, welfare facilities and customer waiting lounge have all been tailored to the Scania brand to enhance the customer experience before entering the indoor showroom. The space has been designed for operator convenience to reflect the brand values and comfortably holds 60 tractor units.
